Italy O&G Project
Our branch in Italy, GEXPRO Services Italia, is a specialized operation built to service GE Oil & Gas Nuovo Pignone (GE O&G) in Florence, Italy. GE Oil & Gas is a multi-billion dollar producer of equipment used to support the drilling and refining industry. The Florence location holds GE O&G's largest manufacturing location, with over 3,000 employees and over one-half million square feet of production space.
Gexpro Services Italia aims to deliver substantial benefits for customers in the areas of fulfillment accuracy and manufacturing efficiency. We also strive to forecast demands more effectively. Today we manage over 8,700 Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) parts in a separate warehouse located in Prato, Italy (central Italia). The expected turnover for these items exceeds $50MM. In the case of GE, managing a large group of parts for them allows them to more creatively use the space previously tied up by these parts. A new production line, indoor warehousing for larger parts and more office or meeting space are three examples of how this space can be used.
The operation in Florence is being built from the ground up. Like any good team or organization, future success begins with the hiring of great people. We have added an outstanding combination of local expertise and strategic operational support from Hungary (our European headquarters) in Customer Service, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, IT and Engineering. Gexpro Services Italia also leverages our production services and logistics know-how from our global $500MM dollar Services business in all areas and functions.
